This is a timely episode, very good points regarding Ephraim and the remnant in the land. Understanding the day of the Lord certainly helps to understand things a little clearer, even for those of us who are not prophesy buffs. Thank you for highlighting these things for us.
Hi Joel,
You have delivered in-depth, high-quality analysis of the text, without trying to be sensational. This study was very helpful to me. Thank you very much, brother!
I think that chapters 1 & 2 of Amos portrays Damascus with palaces, at the time that he judges and/or deals with the transgressions of Judah and Israel. And unless Jerusalem is simultaneously attacked, we are not about to see the fulfillment of Isaiah 17.
Blessings
Phil
Thank-you, Joel, well said.
thank you Joel, I love these Bible lesson,
Thanks Joel, another very insightful teaching against the backdrop of current events. We are studying Revelation 14 just this week and it seems there are some parallels with the first and second harvests mentioned there and your comments in this video.
I really enjoy when you do these types of shows. they are desperately needed. Thank you.
Could you tweet link to Isa17 I just watched on Roku (PTL) so that I can re-tweet it???
Sorry way off topic…we met in Israel in Nov and have been looking forward to your visit to the Deep South in March. I noticed your schedule still indicates you will be at Harbor Church in Hammond, La. There is no information on their site about your March speaking engagement as of today. There are very few prophecy conferences held in this area (if any). It would likely be well attended if your host church made info available!
Hey Rosalyn.
Yes, its on. (As far as I know). I think I am going to chat with the pastor here this week. Hope to see you there. Bring your IDF hoodie.
Can’t wait to see you here in Louisiana! God Bless
I will and you can offer my security services for your event when you speak with the pastor. You know all that time we spent with the IDF I picked up some valuable skills!
Hey Joel, Great teaching on Isaiah 17, may I ask where you get your maps? A website perhaps? Thank you!
Joel–is there an “underground fortress” under Damascus, could this be the remnant?—thanx, dave
Linda,
In this case, I believe I found it online. Always be careful when getting maps online however. I have several Bible atlases, and often use those.
David,
I’m not sure what you are speaking about exactly.
Joel, I have watched a lot of the underground videos and you seem to have the most reasonable explanation of prophecy. Specifically being Middle East centered. Our Bible study is reading Daniel right now. I have heard you say many times, regarding chapter eight that the shaggy goat is possibly Turkey, but Turkey doesn’t seem to have the stature or might, right now anyway, of the description by Daniel. Are there other countries that would align themselves with Turkey to come against an Iranian invasion? Or maybe because this is a future event Turkey will have more power in the future. I guess my issue is that the Greece kingdom beaks down into four parts that are not as powerful as the first. I was thinking “what about all the other Sunni countries?” Where are they, when Iran goes out conquering? I do know that Turkey’s military is huge, but is it that huge? I understand this is a future event and there are lots of variables. I was just wondering if you had any more info to share of Turkey becoming the goat. Thanks for anything you wish to share. Tamaira
Turkey has the largest army in the Middle East. Its larger than England, France, and Germany combined. But it is quite possible that some kind of coalition might be in order. Turkey is after all part of NATO. Turkey overall military is ranked only just behind Israel’s in the region. It is ranked above Iran and Egypt or Saudi Arabia.
Remember, the US was essentially beat by Vietnam. Granted, on its own turf. But if the US stayed out, or even assisted, anything is possible.
I didn’t know Turkey’s military was 2nd in Middle East. I haven’t seen any statics on Iran’s military, but I can see how Russia’s backing of Iran and all the funds we just handed over would give them confidence to go forward with their mission. I watched an interview with Avi Limpkin who said Russia has historical issues with Sunni’s that goes back 1000 years so Putin supports the Shia. I’m sure there is more to it, you have to really dig to get any kind of relevant information about what is happening in the rest of the world. Is it possible for Israel and Turkey would ever combine forces against such Iran? I’m not sure of their true relationship, but that would explain Israel feeling secure with its neighbors and possibly rebuilding the temple and reestablishing the sacrifices. This is all just guessing though. We have to wait and see. Thanks. How do you get tickets to your debat in OKC in August?
Have you considered Isaiah 15 to be a precursor to Isaiah 17? And then Isaiah 18-19 to follow?
this man is right on so many things. but more importantly he has the sensitivity to care about the souls of all involved even the evil doers
Joel I listened to this episode and enjoyed it but you leave me confused I take it that you think “in that day” means the ends of days times yet when I read Isaiah 22 it states In that day I will use Eliakim son of Hilkiah for something and it seems to refer to a time past in Sennacherib’s time? Please explain.
Thx Kaye just email me back and dont post.
The phrase “in that day” is a common Messianic eschatological motif. It is not exclusively used in that sense, but very frequently. The context of each passage determines its use.
Joel please do an underground episode on the false prophet, I personally think this Pope could be him, what do you think?
