International survey reveals 1 in 4 are anti-Semitic

This is shocking. Those who claim to follow Jesus must make this among their most premiere causes to confront and challenge. Otherwise, I would argue that they are not really even following Jesus.

Anti-Semitism remains prevalent around the world with one in four adults surveyed in a new international study expressing anti-Jewish sentiment, according to a new study released Tuesday by the Anti-Defamation League.

I was pleased to see that Iran had the lowest percentage (56%) of anti-Semitism of any Middle Eastern nation. Sadly, Armenia had a soaring 58% and South Korea 53%.

  1. In my opinion the represent a profound biblical illiteracy. And I would likely see it as diminishing, though I’m not sure when it has ever been great.

  2. Most of the above given categories and the wording of this survey seems to be based on an image of a stereotypical Jew. Stereotypes are typically creations of propaganda.

None of the Jews I have ever met, fit into any of these categories. It would greatly upset me, if any of them would be judged or even be persecuted, on the basis of them.

In my opinion, this survey only serves to perpetuate the image of a stereotypical Jew.

  3. Watched video of some of the lessons you delivered at Silver Springs recently. Bible literacy definitely needs to be promoted. Keep doing what you are doing Joel! The walls of ignorance need to come down.

  4. What I am getting at Joel, and I have no research to back it up, but I conclude there are more people who are illiterate when it comes to the Bible, who see Jews in a poor light; than there are people who know more about the Bible, who see Jews in a poor light.

Plus, in today’s National Post, the point was made that none of the questions were phrased like, “Do you think that Jews contribute positively to society”.

  5. Originally South Korean like Jews(Franziska Donner, first president’s wife is presumed Jews). But modern Korean leftist force hate USA, and sympathize Palestine n Arab nations. It’s not unusual things many modern South Korean don’t like Jews for this reason, unfortunately.

  6. “You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.” And when they rejected Jesus Christ this Salvation was given to the gentiles to make the Jews jealous. His plan to bring them to salvation through the blood of His Son will not be complete until they say, “blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord”.

Anti-Semitism is in the heart not the head. When a person is born again they receive the Holy Spirit therefore a love for the Jewish people is embedded in them. If not, I would test myself to see if Christ is in me.

The word of God was passed down through the Jews to all mankind. Therefore the law that condemns mankind as a sinner was also passed down through the Jews. And with this comes an unconscious (sometimes conscience) animosity toward the Jewish people. When in all reality it is an indirect hatred towards God because they are His chosen people. The non Jews who say they are not anti-Semitic, and are not born again, are really not telling the truth. The father of a lost person is the devil and with that blindness comes a reflection of their father’s hatred towards the Jews. They do not always act on this hatred, but with the right questions that spirit will be revealed. Finding excuses to hate the Jews has always been a common quest for the lost, but even with all their manufactured excuses it will never explain the mass persecution of the Jewish people throughout history; including 6 million murdered in the great Holocaust.

When I believed in the Lord Jesus Christ I received a love for the Jewish people that is not separate from Christ in me. Let us not be ignorant of what happened on Calvary. Death to life is not something we take lightly. So much was given to us through the blood of His Cross. And there is no wisdom apart from that sacrifice. For in His death is our death and the power of His resurrection. “We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus so his life can live in us”. Eternal life is eternal living because He is living. “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord”. We do not reckon that which is “figurative”, on the contrary, we must know that we were crucified with Christ and then reckon every day the wonderful liberation that took place on a hill nearly 2000 years ago! A liberation that includes a love and forgiveness that has no bounds.

  7. Hi All:

Here’s a YouTube video published earlier today showing what happened when a group of Jews ascended the Temple Mount to celebrate Jerusalem Day:

And here’s a video posted yesterday showing what happened when Orthodox Jewish families ascended the Temple Mount for Passover last month:

The second video especially symbolizes to me the controversy that is only going to continue to build around Zion and the Temple Mount, the eye of the growing storm.

    In Him,
    Gabe
