  1. Hey Joel, this is good. I appreciate your careful approach…. It’s why I trust you… I don’t want a lot of speculation stated as fact. I would like to ask about the tangential topic of a prophecy about Damascus or hamath and arpad.. I’ve always heard about this but never read an article that addressed the topic in a scholarly fashion where I trusted it. Is there anything you have written or could point to that addresses this supposed prophecy about the destruction of Damascus?
    Thank you.

  2. Hi Joel. Thanks for the comment. I have a contact who has a number of churches planted in the Middle East. He said that Assad, while no doubt a ruthless dictator, was a leader who gave protection and relative freedom to Christians in the Syria which existed before this civil war began. Obviously if he is using chemical weapons he deserves a strong response, but is it possible that something far worse may appear if his regime falls. It seems that Turkey would like to see this happen. As you say this may be the realignemnt that will lead to the emergence of the anti Christ. Regards.

  3. Absolutely. This is what happened in Libya, and why I suggested that its mess and we shouldn’t get involved militarily. Although I do understand stepping in to make sure that he is not using chemical weapons. Perhaps this is intended to make sure that he doesn’t have the capacity to create them and have them be used against Israel or fall into the wrong hands.

  4. I don’t seem to get through with the PDF you posted on#89 Undergroung. Regarding Daniel 11. I would like to get it if possible.

  5. I have often thought it would be such a blessing to have a Joel Richardson commentary on Daniel. Praying for your hard work!

  6. Hi Joel. Thanks for putting up so quickly a timely post about the weekend’s events in Syria. We have tunnels and thick black smoke from Gaza, and chemicals and warplanes in the north. Thank God for Jesus!

I hadn’t realized that the 3rd installment of Covenant and Controversy has been released, but I did send out a couple of days ago in our newsletter a link to the trailer for it. I know that not everyone on our modest list thinks much about Jacob’s Trouble, as you say, and for those who do, many of them might not think that it will involve them in any personal way. I am praying and hoping that some on the list will be stirred up to seriously consider the implications of the pretty clear Scriptural testimony of the great trouble that is still to come, and in the not=so-very-distant-future. Too many Christians are caught up in the ‘make America great’ again mentality, and it just reminds me of the condition of the church in Laodicea. Interestingly, that name means essentially the same as democracy: rule, or judgment, by the people. God’s wisdom is exceedingly wise, and the wisdom of the world is foolishness to Him.

    Blessings to you and yours.

  7. Thanks for clearing up what Ron Paul keeps distorting as well. I like Ron Paul but sometimes he really way too much of an idealist and is influencing this narrative as well. . Libertarianism without evangelism won’t accomplish much.

  8. Thank you, Joel. I look forward to your Underground episodes. Since you mentioned you are slowly working on a Daniel commentary, I wondered if you have read Charles Cooper’s 4 part articles on Daniel 7? They are titled “Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 : Equal or Not Equal” located at http://prewrathrapture.com/?s=daniel+2+and+7 . I had never thought of the possibility of Daniel 7 being future because so many say Daniel 2 and 7 are talking of the same kingdoms. . .

  9. Thank you for the Articles Joel. Very helpful and clear. It would be hard to argue against your conclusions about Daniel 11 and 12. its a bit mysterious that it was ever a mystery, because it’s so logical. Which seems to indicate that God is opening up the understanding when it is needed, at the time of the end. Praying for your mission opportunity.. I have really enjoyed and appreciate learning from you and Reggie and Dalton over these past few years. Blessings

  10. Joel,
I’ve purchased the latest episode of Covenant and Controversy – The Great Trouble and yet again was totally blown away by the quality and subject matter of the film. 10/10 just doesn’t cut it. The film is way beyond excellent and with both hands I am grabbing every opportunity to encourage everyone to watch the entire series. No-one has come back to me and said they were disappointed by the film. I notice you’re advertising Dr. Michael S. Heiser’s book Reversing Hermon. I have recently read this book and I’ve also read his other books The Unseen Ream and Supernatural I have to say, I was somewhat wary at first (there are lots of populist/sensationalist books out there) but I have now come to accept his basic thesis. I am learning a lot from Michael Heiser and much of what he says compliments and dovetails in with things that you say in your books and elsewhere, I’m currently working through some of his other books and I’m looking forward to reading his works of fiction as well. Keep up the good work Joel. Every blessing (Ps.134:3)

  11. Hello Joel

    A little bit off topic!

I have recently come across this very interesting passage while reading the 1. book of Enoch. From the James H. Charlesworth “The old testament pseudepigrapha” edition, page 39, chapter 56:

“The struggle of Israel with its enemies – In those days, the angels will assemble and thrust themselves to the east at the parthians an the medes. They will shake up the kings so a spirit of unrest will come upon them, and stir them up from their thrones, and they will break forth from their beds like lions and like hungry hyenas among their own flocks. And they will go up and trample upon the land of my elect ones, and the land of my elect ones will be before them like a threshing floor or a highway. But the city of my righteous ones will become an obstacle to their horses. And they will begin to fight among themselves, and by their own right hands they shall prevail against themselves. A man shall not recognize his brother, nor a son his mother, until there shall be a significant number of corpses among them. Their punishment is indeed not in vain. In those days, Sheol shall open her mouth, and they shall be swallowed up into it and perish. Thus Sheol shall swallow up the sinners in the presence of the elect ones.”

Now this sounds to me clearly like the Eastern-islamic Anti-Christ army and its endtimes invasion of and defeat in the promised land. 1 Enoch of course being a funny sort of book, consisting probably of very ancient traditions, several hellenistic adaptions and early Christian editing and rewriting in the second century. If you do not know of it already, I hope you can use it to further build up the case for your eschatological-interpretation. Best Regards

  12. Hey Joel,
Thanks for all your courageous work mate.
I was wondering if you’ve considered writing a commentary on the book of Revelation?
I know you’d do an awesome job, I appreciate the scholary depth, theological soundness & biblical faithfulness of your work.

    Blessings
    Matt

  13. My young man, and the translations of your books into Portuguese, when will it happen?
I think that whoever bought the rights was a Muslim, and therefore will never be published in my native language.
