  1. To all Joel’s loyal readers,

As many of you know, Joel is debating Dr. Thomas Ice in OK this week on this topic and the larger topic of the region in which the Antichrist will arise. This has the potential to be a very spiritually significant event. I challenge all to join in prayer with my ministry “Ready for Jesus Ministries” that the truth of God’s Word is revealed and that the Kingdom is advanced by increased outreach to Muslims.

If you like, you can pray along with us to the topic prayer found at this link http://www.thegospelintheendtimes.com/antichrist/prayer-alert-joel-richardson-debate/

  2. I started to read your books a little over a year ago after seeing you on a Christian program. I had read someone else write an article on an Islamic antichrist a few years prior to seeing you on tv. It is so very interesting to see what is occurring in Turkey. Thank you so much for helping me to understand better what the scriptures are saying. I am being a Berean and not just taking your word, but looking at other articles and reading scriptures, then looking at a map.

I read an article from Michael Youseff that was written a couple of years ago criticizing your viewpoint. However, he now has a book on the exact same thing. I guess he is realizing what is unfolding in the middle east is actually more accurate.

  3. Thanks, Joel, for giving this historical overview of this view! Gog’s position and importance is certainly unique, in that the Lord Himself says in Ezek 38:17 “Are you the one of whom I spoke in former days through My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for many years that I would bring you against them?”

God bless you, too, in your debate with Tommy Ice, and I pray with you that it will be edifying for believers.

  4. جوج ومأجوج
    Gog and Magog !
In Islam, they are savage people . There will be such a lot of them that they will drink all the Sea of Galilee (Lake of Tiberias) . They will emerge after Jesus will kill the antichrist.
They will not killed by anyone rather God will send Myiasis on them.
Right Now, they are exist ,but they can’t emerge because they are in a place locked by a great Dam built by ( Thoul Qarnin) mentioned in surah 18.

All what I mentioned is from authentic hadiths

  5. Great video again Joel! And as always your reasoning for believing in an islamic antichrist also being Gog of Magog is very clear. I’ve read your books on this subject and I don’t see how any one can argue with the logic on that. I suspect established (famous) ministers who reject the idea have something invested. They have probably been preaching a european antichist for many years, written books about it made movies and are now facing having to admit they were wrong all the time. Just as many still preach a saving sudden rapture before the great tribulation, many are so stuck in their own theology if you point out their errors they will just get mad and try and deligitimise you in any way they can. I’m quite sure though that now this knowledge is out and of course it has been for some time, it will increase. Somebody called it a prophecy reformation that is coming. I like that term and I believe we will see it soon enough, and you will be vindicated.

  6. The Islamic Gog Magog narratives are simply borrowed from later (false) Christian apocalyptic works. Muslims should see how silly these stories are.

  7. Thanks Nelson. Bless you brother. Anyone who can think of the best name for the debate wins a free DVD.

  8. Joel, I got it! I got it! The best name ever for the upcoming debate DVD: “Clash of the Titans”. Oh, wait! Maybe that is already taken. Oh, well. 🙂

But truly, many of us are indeed praying for you that grace and peace cover this event with thoughtful and careful exegesis of the relevant passages of God’s Word and everyone comes away from this event edified to God’s glory.

    Blessings!

  9. Wonderful work Joel. And as usual, you are always very thorough and enlightening. I will be praying for you in the upcoming debate as well. Perhaps a debate name might be “West Side / East Side Story.” Whatever it’s called, I think scripture backs up your eastern view.

  10. The Lord hath shown me, and, Behold, a swarm of locusts were coming, and behold, one of the young devastating locusts was Gog the King.
    Amos 7:1 (LXX)
Hey Joel. Sometime back I was using Chuck Misslers expository material on Ezekiel. He had much to say that linked to your Islamic Anti-Christ thesis (I think, at that time at least, drawing on Walid Shoebat’s material).
He put forward an alternate LXX rendering of Amos 7:1 that may give some clarity as to the derivation of Gog (more so spiritually than geographically) and the connection to the source of his army, or at the very least the power behind it.
I would have to go back and explore the material at length for a more thorough presentation (of which you are probably already privy to) but certainly challenged me to dig a little deeper. Thought provoking with the contrast of natural locusts ‘having no King’ (Proverbs 30) but this LXX rendering of Amos 7:1 presenting this King of the locusts as Gog therefore the logical conclusion would be that the locusts are not literal but servants of that same King.

    Blessings

    Adam

  11. End times Churchill v Chamberlain dilemma…

Or dangermouse meets he-man. Smiley face

  12. Caner,

Hey now. I’m not sure I can live up to that one, but it sounds really nice. Winner winner.

  13. Linda,

Very creative, (The Churchill one) but perhaps a tad too much to think about. I’ll give it a gold ribbon. : )

  14. Hey, Joel now Caner has a point. You did say you were going to breathe “fire” on the Jim Bakker show so this title could apply! LOL

But I missed that “fire” part…*shrugs*

    Blessings!

  15. Hello! I am new to your website so you have probably already addressed this and I have just not seen it. In Daniel 11:37-39 it refers to the antichrist and it says that he will “honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know. . .” Because of this passage I have always thought that when the antichrist comes on the scene it will be something totally different than what has ever been known before–not just an extension of Islam but something different. I am probably just not understanding something here. . . maybe the “different” is that he is exalting himself?

  16. Yum ok thanks Joel, just a bitta fun, besides the Gold Ribbon goes better with my shoes. Smiley face.

  17. How funny, I was going to say “Fire & Ice” & scrolled down and someone beat me to it! 🙂 How about “Look West, young man”? Ok, this could get really cheesey really quick. lol. “Pre-Trib is as cold as Ice, willing to sacrifice the Word..” Ok, I’ll stop, I’ll stop

  18. That’s it, I got it! “The European Revised Holy Roman Shoehorn vs The Historical Grammatical Scriptural Islamic Glove” (cause it fits like one)

  19. Because you know, Jeff Marshall, if the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit!

Oh, Joel…what did you start? All this banter is going to get us in trouble! LOL

    Blessings!

  20. So let me get this strait. Gog is a man with a name that equals six hundred sixty and six in Greek alpha /numeric calculation ? I just want to know who to be on the lookout for.

  21. Just wanted to let you know that I have, and will continue to pray that God will give you the right words that his truth can be magnified in the debate. You know that Mr. Ice won’t waiver from what he believes. You have the relationship/phases of the 7th & 8th kingdom and the legs & feet nailed better than anybody… so promote the Word of God… and hopefully hearts can be touched.

I would name the debate “Bible first… history second” It seems that the partial blindness happens when the presupposition comes first. This would put the emphasis where it needs to be first and foremost. Many can’t imagine that Dan 2 is silent about Rome.

Blessings to you… and I’ll keep praying.

  22. Great presentation and I look forward to reading your books. The creativity for the title is fantastic and enjoyable, and I pray that brothers in Jesus Christ can be shining His light and sharing more of His Word into the ears of believers through the debate, in the Love of Jesus.
I was wondering what you thought of the passage in Revelation 20:7-10, where Satan is released, and Gog and Magog as well, to lead the final rebellion, if the beast(therion, G2342, AC) and false prophet are in the lake of fire, being cast in Revelation 19:20?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts,
    Your brother in Jesus Christ,
    David

  23. To anyone who wonders whether this is a good teacher or just another teacher proclaiming his own ideas as truth, I just want to say that this is the place you want to be.

I’m in my mid-40’s and have read the Bible cover to cover at least 10 times (many passages at least 25 times). As I read the Bible, many of the end-times puzzle pieces came together for me naturally but many were still unconnected. I would read other teachers and because of my familiarity with the Bible I was able to see that they were teaching their own imaginations.

Just before I found Joel’s website, I had come to the conclusion myself (I don’t read a lot of commentaries) that Gog was the Anti-christ, for the obvious reasons Joel always mentions.

Joel sticks to the Bible and does not go beyond it. When he is conjecturing, he lets you know. This teacher can be trusted. And from someone who is very familiar with the Bible on a layman’s level, everything he says is on-point.

Joel, one suggestion. You have a lot of great materials, but those who have zero background can be a little confused jumping into your website or just the topic in general. As the Lord leads, but you might consider presenting a very short teaching on the very basic outline of events that are coming…you know, a simple framework to spoon-feed the new guy (7 year trib, mid-trib this happens, rapture occurs when, main players, etc.), just so they have a baseline from which to move into the more technical topics you often discuss…perhaps you have done this and I have missed it.

    God bless.

  24. Thanks Joel for highlighting the acknowledgement of the Islamic Antichrist eastern paradigm by writers and scholars of the past.
I would love to see a discussion of the prophetic between you and Jacob Prasch (Book, Shadow of the Beast) a more worthy colleague in Christ I cant think of. He holds to the Western paradigm but acknowledges that those who hold to the Eastern paradigm have a very strong case, I find that interesting, would love to see you two in discussion.

  25. Hey dear brother Joel,

I just wanted to share two thoughts concerning our mutual eschatology.

I think one of the greatest comforts, apart from the return of the Lord, that our position has is the limited empire of the Antichrist. i.e. him not ruling every single island in the world. A lot of pretribbers have these incredibly hellish ideas of what life will be like before the Lord returns, but the idea that in some ways, life will be comparable to WWII. The Nazis spread out from Germany and took over almost all of the continent of Europe, and life was terrible if you lived within their borders, but there were places in the world where the war never directly touched, even though we were all aware of the war. That idea is so much more bearable than the Antichrist will take over every single nations and tie you down and put the mark on you against your will and damn your soul to hell forever.
The idea of we’ll have a fighting chance, even though times will be tough, to me, is of great personal comfort. The first resurrection being the greatest comfort.

My second thought was many who have an Alex Jones kind of view of the last days who watch documentaries about police states, federal power coming against the freedoms of Christians and with the surveillance that you see in major cities and anti-Christian biased media, they just can’t buy that Satan isn’t involved in the political power structures in the west. So I came up with a synthesis of what you teach and what they talk about.

During WWII, Satan wanted to kill every single Jew, but the allies interrupted and stopped the axis from accomplishing that goal, now during the Antichrist’s future war against Jews and Christians in the lands that he will occupy during the great tribulation, Satan will not want a repeat of the allies swooping in to save the day, so what do you do?

You take over the Christian nations who made up the allies:
The United Kingdom, The United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, etc… and you immaculate them, de-Christianise them, change the citizens from being loyal to God to taking on a worldly spirit that is anti-Israel and anti-Christian, that way when the great tribulation kicks off, Western nations will be less likely to swoop in and save Believers in the Middle East. And right now, we can already see that in a limited way with ISIS.

When ISIS first started systematically killing off and raping Christians, the ‘allies’ largely sat on their hands, but when Islamists wanted to come into Europe, rape their women and establish shari’a, suddenly there’s this huge massive push to let tens of millions of them into what was traditionally Christian lands. Just my two cents.

Shalom brother and keep up the awesome work!

  26. Joel- I have to find a link, but I have heard the late Dave Hunt of the Berean Call say that Ezekiel 38 and 39 are referring to Armageddon. He never believed that they were separate wars. Even though he followed the Roman Antichrist view, I think it is very interesting he believed that view considering the nations listed in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Keep up the great work! Blessings!

  27. Thank you Joel for all your study and time spent learning and sharing about the End time events from a Middle Eastern perspective. It has certainly been helpful to me to finally get the whole picture in a sense. You have also been an encouragement to me such that I will be more mindful of the Holy Spirit’s leading in ministry here in Southeast Michigan and the place I grew up…Dearborn.

  28. Loosely related …

Joel, I read Isaiah 13 as an end time prophecy, but have only recently wondered if vs 3-5 (“I have commanded My consecrated ones, I have even called My mighty warriors, My proudly exulting ones, To execute My anger”) is speaking of the coming Islamic slaughters. Could they be God’s “consecrated ones” in any sense…? ‘Consecrated’ for this task…?

  29. @Gary Chappelle,

I just watched the three days thanks to your link,
and I just wanted to update the folks here that by far,
    day three was the best.
    jimbakkershow.com/video/watching-turkey-day-3/

    1) Joel had more talking time
    2) Joel got to start talking about the two power players in Turkey.
(Remember in Star Wars when after Palpatine got the power he wanted he killed the separatists who were the original excuse for his supreme dictatorial powers? It sounds a lot like that, but what Joel said was more historical, what Hilter did to the brown shirts.

    )
    3) You also got to here about the content in the two DVDs

Shalom my brothers and sisters in Yeshua!

  30. Joel,
I bought your book The Islamic Antichrist a couple months back. I found it so interesting that I bought Mideast Beast. I have enjoyed your books very much. I caught your prophecy series at Stuart Heights Baptist Church in Chattanooga also have watched a few of the Underground series on your web site. I took your advise and read Alan Kurshner,s books Prewrath: A Very Short Introduction and Antichrist Before The Day Of The Lord. I am into your CD’s now Islam & The End Times I & II and Understanding The Times. Great Series.

I have a question involving the 12th Chapter of Daniel. Gabriel tells Daniel “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up there will be 1290 days.” DA 12:11 Most commentators I have read behind think that the 30 day difference here between the 1260 and 1290 means that there will be 30 days added to the end of the 7 years. Some think the 30 days will be taken off the first 3-1/2 years making the seven years 41 months and 43 months. This seems to make sense to me. I don’t find those 30 days mentioned elsewhere in the Bible. However, the next verse reads. “Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.” DA 12:12 Could it be that when Jesus said the days for the elect would be cut short that Gabriel is referencing that 1,335 from the beginning of the Tribulation is where the Church is delivered prior to the outpouring of God’s wrath?

I guess I am just curious since I seem to evolving from a Pre-Tribulation rapture person to a Pre-Wrath rapture person and am coming to the conclusion that we are going to be involved in a lot of this.

  31. Hi Jim,

Many fine commentators have wrestled through some of the varying numbers in Daniel and most often sought to align them with various biblical holidays etc. While a few of these explanations make some good sense, for me personally, they do remain a bit of a mystery. Ultimately, I’m not sure it is critical to understand at this time. Or at least, I think its fair to say that there are other matters which take priority.

    Blessings!

  32. 30 days equals one month, 15 days points to the feast of tabernacles which is 15 days after the feast of trumpets, it’s also possible the feast of tabernacles will be one month late due to all the upheaval, there’s precedent for that as the Jews sometimes kept Passover one month late.

  33. Hi Joel,

    I’m a bit confused.

I thought, following the return of Christ, that He shall rein for 1,000 yrs. Then satan is released & he leads an insurrection against Christ’s kingdom. Is that not Armageddon?

  34. Armageddon comes just before his return. The brief insurrection at the end of the 1000 years is called in Revelation Gog of Magog. It is different however from Ezekiel’s reference to Gog of Magog, which culminates with the Battle of Armageddon.

  35. Joel,
You said on Aug 19th: “Armageddon comes just before his return. The brief insurrection at the end of the 1000 years is called in Revelation Gog of Magog. It is different however from Ezekiel’s reference to Gog of Magog, which culminates with the Battle of Armageddon.”

Can you elaborate on this difference between that which is in Ezeikiel and that which is in Revelation?

  36. Hi Joel. ave you ever read the below article. It seems to make some good points on the Assyrian being the Antichrist but not Gog. I am reading your mideast beast book and enjoying it, however I’m having a hard time reconciling the fact that the Beast is taken alive ( not buried) and thrown into the lake of fire and the fact that Gog invades Israel and is killed before entering whereas the Antichrist occupies Jerusalem for three and a half years as the article below states. Those are the two issues I’m having with your interpretation. Your thoughts?
