Debate is very valuable. I totally agree with Joel’s comments and I would add there is no reason why we cannot debate respectfully. I will be honest there are certain schools of thought in the church that are passed on and that are falling into a modern model… rather than a biblical model. It is based on a non-confrontational attitude and sorry you cannot have that mind frame when mining the Scripture for revelation. Jesus didn’t walk on eggshells with his disciples. Seems his style of discipleship did not concern itself with offending a person under that discipleship. Now for sure there are certain individuals who will debate not to learn or to even instruct but to demonstrate how right they are. We have to have a little mercy for each other. It is part of the process of iron sharpening iron. Pray for each other and meet opposition with grace yes but with Truth first and foremost. My 2 cents
Hi Joel, thanks for this video. I love studying God’s word and sharing with my classmates in Sunday School (older group of men). We are always discussing how to apply the scriptures in a practical way. I myself pray for ministries like GCM and FAI and others, and support financially, but I don’t do as much as I think could on the ground in my own neighborhood beside being faithful each day, being kind to others, trying to be an example, etc. I think God’s word provides intellectually for people like us who like to teach, but we need to always remember, we need to apply God’s word. Thank you for reminding me and others. God bless you. I do have your newest book and reading through it. 🙂
Thanks, Michael. I need to remind myself. Blessings!
One thing I forgot to mention Joel, since I came back to Lord a few years ago, after a long period, the only prophecy teacher I listen to is yourself. It is your humility and not given to hyperbole. So when you mention books or other teachers, I really listen. I may not agree always with what is being said, but want to listen and read those with humble spirits. I’ saw you debate Tommy Ice and you were extremely respectful, humble, yet did not water down the truth.
Appreciate someone who feels the weight of being a teacher. Your writings have been the primary influence of me reaching out to the small musli m community where I live. So good on ya, keep it up.
Hello Joel:
In respect to the parable of the fig tree…I like Luke’s account best because he says look at the fig tree and all the trees. Is this another indicator that we are ever closer to the return ofJesus? I ask, because I wonder if we witnessed this very event in the Arab Spring.
I also would like to encourage you and Nathan in respect to the impact of your book THe Mystery of Catastrophe. Each of us sit here today as followers of Jesus because of the work of 11 men. If your book motivates just 11 today to be about all the Jesus has called us to do in this day…then many will be prepared for the catastrophe that is about to befall the world. Sadly, I agree with you that most will not do anything tangible…but all the Lord needs is Gideon’s army.
Blessings to you and Nathan and merry CHRISTmas to all.
