After much anticipation, Dr. Timothy Furnish, has released his new book, Ten Years’ Captivation with the Mahdi’s Camps: Essays on Muslim Eschatology, 2005-2015. Furnish’s work sheds much light on the specific apocalyptic ideas driving the various Islamic movements in the Middle East, including ISIS. I wanted to make everyone aware of its release, as know many of you will want to grab a copy right away.

Thanks Joel,, have purchased and awaiting delivery
Daesh also sounds similar to an Arabic verb that means to tread underfoot, trample down, or crush something. shades of Daniel 7:19
“Then I desired to know the exact meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its claws of bronze, and which devoured, crushed, and trampled down the remainder with its feet,
what do you think?
Dear Joel, I really wanted to thank you for your work on both the Islamic Antichrist and the Mid East Beast. In the latter book, you said that when Daniel says that the Antichrist rejects the desire of women, he could possibly be referring to Christ, “the desire of the nations”.
Do you think that the Antichrist’s rejection of women’s desire could refer to the fact that Islam, under Sharia law, treats women horribly? Just a thought. What are your thoughts? Again, I really appreciate your work! God bless you, brother!
I don’t see that as the right interpretation. I do not see a handful of random statements, but a four-fold list of theological comments (regarding the belief system regarding God) of the Antichrist. I believe this is the very passage to which John later refers when he says that the AC denies the Father and the Son (1 John 2:22). Thats my view. God knows best.
Hello Joel;
Reading through the book. He kind of “spanks” us on page 56 speaking to the EV world. Very interesting book and full of information to digest just as I had expected.
Yes, condescension and scholarship often go hand in hand. Its particularly fashionable within the scholarly world to look down on evangelicals. But that’s fine.
In a strange way, I agree with him… but not for the same reasons. I agree that we as EV’s need to learn as much as we can about this subject to be better informed and also to explain to our Muslim friends that we have looked into their belief system, understand it and reject it. It is not enough to just know the Bible (a must) but also knowing enough about Islam to carry on a conversation with a Muslim friend. I have found that knowing the difference between a Sunni and a Shi’a is extremely important. I am dialoguing with a Muslim from Pakistan and totally rejects the Shi’a view of Mahdism. Also the part on the magazine DABIQ is priceless.

Oh OK! Thanks Joel.
Some of my favorite books are those written critical of Christian apocalyptic works. I sometimes get such a laugh. But there is much to learn there.
Just bought the book via my Kindle. Looking forward to reading it.
Hello Joel
First of all I wanna thank you for your very good Bible studies and books.
Such as: Mideast Beast, The Islamic Antichrist…etc…etc.
It fundamentally changed my belief in God, Israel and the Bible, because of a much better understanding of the prophecies.
Not only myself, but also my wife and some friends are exited about ‘The Islamic Antichrist’.
For better understanding, I translated it almost totally in dutch (I think about 85% of the content).
Because of a lot of interest among other believers in the Netherlands and the actuality of this book, I want to ask you if I have the permission to publish the translation in a small dutch edition, for those people who don’t read english very well.
I hope you will agree.
Maybe you’re willing to write a small introduction of yourself in the dutch translation.
Maybe is that the beginning of an broader introduction of yourself and your activities to Dutch and Belgium christians….you never know (?).
I hope to get an answer of you.
God bless you , your wife and kids…….
SHALOM ……………
Met vriendelijke groet,
