Amidst the varied opinions among Christians, there are those who believe that the present day State of Israel has nothing to do with the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy or the redemptive purposes of God. These will argue that the prophetic Scriptures nowhere necessitate a last days regathering of the Jewish people to their homeland. According to those of this view, the rebirth of the State of Israel is all simply a coincidence, the product of self-fulfilled prophecy, or mere human effort. God is not behind any of this, they claim. Needless to say, the fact that Israel exists, that it is right in front of them, one would assume that this would be enough to cause those who hold this view to reconsider. But too often, it is simply not the case. Likewise, there is a similar lack of discernment among some concerning the rise of Islam as the religious system of the Beast of Revelation. While there yet remain Christians who feel as though the real apocalyptic threat comes from folks like Pope Francis and his followers, from my perspective, where the signs of the times are all pointing should be quite obvious by now.

Hi Joel:
Did you see Rand Paul’s address at the FRC convention today? It was an excellent speech on the reality of global Christian persecution. He obviously doesn’t quite grasp the full implications of radical Islam as you present them (or at least he doesn’t publicly discuss them), but it was refreshing to hear an American politician speak so frankly on the subject, and I think his foreign policy suggestions are right on. Would love to hear your feedback.

I only read an article talking about it. I’m glad that someone is talking about it, although I am not entirely in agreement with all of Paul’s approach to foreign. In my opinion, its somewhat contradictory and too simplified. For instance, I think we would do well to fully support the present Egyptian military. Why send our troops to fight radicals all over the world, when the Egyptian military is happy to do it for us? To be clear, I like the Pauls, both the son and the dad. I just disagree with some of their foreign policy and in the dads case, a failure to acknowledge the full extent of the existential threat of radical Islam. But as cynical as I am concerning any real solution to come through politics or politicians, I think my theme song would have to be this.
Hello Joel,
We also listened to Sen. Paul & others at the Value Voters Summit underway in Wash DC this weekend. Sen. Paul clearly understood that there is an attack on Christianity. However his solutions are based in the political arena, since that is where God has him. Joel Rosenberg came from a biblical perspective, if you have time to listen it is worth listening to. God has diversities of operations but from the same Holy Spirit.
The link below is of Rick Santorum’s speech which we think you would enjoy because you are a story teller yourself, writing books & making movies. You may not agree with him 100% but he has some valid points about how to reach people.

Thanks for your reply. I guess we only need to fight for one Hero at this point, using the weapons of warfare that He gave us.
Joel, I see you only show Nov. 3 for your visit to EArl, NC. Did you councel the Nov. 2 date?
Yes, the pastor had a scheduling conflict. So I will only be speaking on Sunday. But I will be speaking a few times. I think Sunday School, the main service and then the evening as well.
Those who attack Christians – I submit that one explanation for this is, they do not want to be confused with the facts.
There are Christians who do not want Assad as the ruler. Then, there are those Christians who acquiesce, because they see Assad as being less evil than the Muslims with the black flags.
Natan Sharansky in his book, “The Case for Democracy”, wrote about 3 groups. The True believers, those in the middle, and the true dissidents. I submit the same template can be used in Syria.
Something to think about, because there are explanations that are universally valid, regardless of how different some folk are when compared with others.
Russia Today has an article about a recent court ruling forbidding Christians in Malaysia from using the word Allah when speaking about God. The decision was made by 3 Muslim judges……
Watched the web cast with my wife today. Good info and you all were just warming up and then it was over! Should have gone on for 3 hours or more. Maybe you should consider having a weekly webcast with Walid using Jonathan’s set up. In any event you should consider a live webcast as the word needs to get out and open up Christians minds to what’s really going on. I have read your books and know both of you are right on the money but most have no clue and will be in trouble when the rough times really hit hard as they expect escape. The church is soooo not ready…..Ken
From Joel’s article:
What is your view of the new Pope?
He is pretty unabashed about his false gospel (witness the now common post hoc damage-limitation efforts by Vatican spokesmen, every time Pope Frank drops another bombshell). Events in the Muslim world are important of course but I think that (to use your term) “the real apocalyptic threat” is more likely to come from deception (as Christ warned repeatedly) than from Islam.
It’s not that I disagree with your position: indeed, I find it compelling. …But I just don’t think we have enough of the pieces yet to get the right picture. I think that Rome (along with its daughter harlots) has to be factored in prophetically. Perhaps Mary (or rather the thing which appears to little peasant girls and tells them to count the rosary) will bridge the gulf between false Christendom and the Ummah.
Looking both at Scripture and current events, I’m sure there’s going to be some unholy peace between Rome and the Islamic world, perhaps brokered by the Jesuit in the Vatican and some Middle Eastern figure. (Remember that the raison d’être of the Jesuits is to bring the world back to Rome, and that even official Church doctrine can be subordinated to this goal.)
…Part of me hopes that the coming Islamic peacemaker will be Adnan Oktar — which it won’t of course, but I love the idea of his gauchely trying to foster goodwill with the Vatican by sending the Pope a generous detachment from his harem of telegenic tarts… 😉
By the way, what do you make of Chris White’s thesis? (Short trailer here…) I’m not sure he’s right, but it’s an interesting possibility.
