This article by Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch has almost perfectly expressed my feelings concerning the whole controversy between Scarlett Johansson, Oxfam, and Roger Waters. If I had written the article, the only difference is that I would have sardonically quoted Pink Floyd lyrics a bit more than the rabbi. To my embarrassment, there was a time when Roger Waters was a hero of mine. Of course, this is only because I was 15 and stoned most of the time (I came to faith at age 19, just in case you’re wondering). So its doesn’t surprise me that he has re-emerged into my world these many years later, though now a man in his 70’s, still seeking to be profound, but just as juvenile as he was 30 years ago.
