First this news story from the UK Telegraph: Navy ready to launch first strike on Syria.
For the past several months, in working on my forthcoming film project, I’ve travelled extensively throughout the Middle East and have sat down with numerous Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with some Syrian Christians who discussed the situation in their nation in great detail.
Today, as I read the news that the United States is considering launching an attack on Bashar al-Assad’s regime, I am deeply, deeply grieved.
I want to be as clear as I possibly can, if the United States and Britain carry out an attack on the Assad regime, they will be effectively handing the country and people of Syria over to one of the most unarguably evil, vile, and murderous groups in the World. Jabhat al-Nusra or “the rebels” as they are most often simply referred to in the Western media, are an al-Qaida affiliated group. They would be the ones benefitting from our actions. If Jabhat al-Nusra is successful in Syria, not only will tens of thousands of Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical Christians be slaughtered, but so also will Alawite, Druze, Shi’a and even moderate Sunni Muslims. The testimony throughout Syria is consistent, while Assad is a typical Middle Eastern dictator, the so-called rebels are evil, heartless thugs who will kill anyone who is not one of them, or who does not bow to their radical Islamist agenda.
Within the country, over the past year alone, al-Nusra has kidnapped tens of thousands of woman and children for their own perverted sexual pleasures. In fact, a prominent Sunni Imam in Syria issued a fatwa declaring that it is permissible within Islamic jurisprudence to simply take any woman that the jihadis choose, including little girls as young as three years old. And it has been happening.
If we attack Assad and al-Nusra is successful, their goal is to divide the country into sections so as to establish a radical Islamic beachhead or Caliphate. They have openly declared this to be their goal. In retrospect today, there are few Americans who still believe that the American war in Iraq was a good idea. And it certainly has not produced the great benefits that were initially expected by the Bush administration. In fact, most would be willing to admit that the Iraq war was perhaps the greatest mistake of the Bush’s administration. And as a result of this “mistake” hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Christians no longer have a country.
Now, if the Obama administration goes forward with its stated plans to attack Assad, it will be the greatest mistake that this nation has made in decades. Not only will we have the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocents on our hands, but we will subsequently be forced to deal with the utter chaos that results from our actions. I’m appealing to everyone who reads this to stop right now and pray that the US and Britain do not go forward with military action in Syria.
Now, many will ask about the recent release of nerve gas in Damascus. Let me begin by asking if we really are this gullible? It has become obvious that the radicals know us far better than we know them. We’ve all seen the manufactured victim show a dozen times in the media coming out of the Palestinian territories or Iraq and even in Syria. They lay on stretchers groaning, covered in goat blood. Or they carry around the same dead infant for hours for the Western media to capture. And we here in the West demand that action be taken immediately. Sadly, it is an easy game. And this is exactly what is happening right now. If anyone believes for one second that Bashar al-Assad, a typical Middle Eastern dictator/survivor was truly dumb enough to cross the red line and gas hundreds of people in full view of the World, then we truly are a stupid people. The war being fought in Syria is a propaganda war. Wake up and use a little bit of healthy skepticism before we start launching missiles!
I do not want to be misunderstood. Basshar Assad is not a shining gem of morality. Minority groups in Syria often were unfairly treated under his regime. But what is needed right now is some proper perspective. As my Syrian friends were quick to state, “Of course, we prefer the boot of the Assad regime on our necks, to the sword of al-Nusra.” But they were quick to say that under Assad, most minority groups were generally treated well. They experienced a certain level of prosperity and freedom for many years. But under the al-Qaida thugs that the Obama administration appears to be supporting, the country will descend into an abyss of blood-shed and will become another Islamist hell-hole, courtesy of the USA. Lets not let this happen.
I am asking everyone to call their elected representatives to demand of the President that we do not attack Syria. Demand that we stand down. The Obama administration has consistently been on the wrong side of every conflict in the Middle East. Demand of the administration that the stop listening to the policy making Muslim Brotherhood plants in his own government (yes, there are at least a dozen) and the Islamist Prime Minister Erdogan of Turkey. If the President doesn’t stop supporting the wrong side in the Middle East, then the blood on his hands will truly bring a curse onto this nation.
Please, pray for Syria!

Oh Joel! This is disturbing and alarming regarding the unintended consequences of poorly planned Western Foreign Policy by the Obama Administration. If such incompetent Western action is executed we are in a world of trouble! Lives will be taken and a radical Islamic stronghold just Northeast of Israel’s border will be established! This cannot happen and we must ask our great God in prayer to move His mighty hand to save His people and protect the other innocents from such bloodshed. The word must get out and a call to prayer be given to put pressure on the the Obama Administration not to do this and ask God to prevent this from taking place.

Somehow we are supposed to believe that within 72 hours after the arrival of a UN chemical weapons inspection team to assess — with the Syrian government’s cooperation — the sites of previous claimed chemical weapons attacks, that same Syrian government would launch a chemical weapon attack on civilians just miles from where the UN inspectors are staying.
Whatever.
My unit has been asked every other week from further up the foodchain about our readiness. The sooner the UK gets a leader that says no to American presidents, the better…insteasd of the usual “oh, ok, go on then” response

To add to everything that is distressing about this turn of events is the news snips that I have been seeing which indicate Israel is in favor of this plan. How in the name of all that is holy can they support an action that will give their worst enemies the upper hand in Syria? Please tell me this isn’t all about the Leviathan NG field and who gets rights to it!
If we had supported bush in his crazy war on Assad’s non Islamist friend named Saddam why would we be indifferent to Obama’s policy? If Bush is on helm we would turn a blind eye on these propaganda videos and just go there to spread democracy would we not?
Joel, although you warn about the opposition forces and the consequences of their reign in Syria, you did not clearly address the cause of the victim’s deaths. You concluded it purely a ruse in order to get the West involved & the terrorists in power. I have not heard from any official source to support your probable cause for this situation. It puts me in a difficult position.

Whether on purpose or not, this president makes every decision that would work toward the killing and persecution of Christians and the benefit of the muslim brotherhood. The guy is a marxist/socialist/Islamic Trojan Horse!

A few thoughts about Syria
1) I agree that Assad is the lesser of two evils and that Syria under “the rebels” will spiral out of control into the Islamist “hell-hole” you speak of. I also see how U.S. intervention in Iraq and Afghanistan has set our government up for such a scenario as this – one where intervention is “unavoidable.” After all, the U.S. justified the invasion of Iraq merely on the speculation of WMD’s, but here in Syria, the use of WMD’s are unambiguous.
2) Though I agree with you that the conflict in Syria is one largely of propaganda, I am curious what your thoughts were on the connection between Israeli intelligence and the U.S.(see link below) and also on the recent declaration of the Arab League condemning Assad? Wouldn’t these developments give more credibility to the fact that Assad has used WMD’s on his own people, or are you saying “the rebels” are responsible for these misrepresentations? Hope you can comments

The question I have is what do you think the US nad its allies should do about the use of chemical weapons in Syria by the Assad regime? Thanks for this posting, I am totally with you on this – this has been on my mind for a while. Surely our governments are not that stupid to hand the keys to these killers. I have seen the Father Murad video and the Alawite truck drivers killed because they are the wrong sect, these are evil men indeed.
This is so naive, If this happens, this also will threaten the future of Europe. The reconquest of Andalusia will be called for (within 5 years) once they have a base for offensive Jihad.

The blind Bulgarian woman Baba Vanga made a lot of strange predictions, but she did say that the 44th President would be black and also the last one. She also said that Kursk would be underwater (and the Kursk sub did sink in 2000) and that Russia would be the spiritual center of the world.
It is interesting that the West is starting to mock Christianity and the East is embracing it.

I do not believe that the Assad regime used chemical weapons. However, even if he did, attacking him and empowering the truly murderous al-Qaeda jihadis of Syria will unleash far more death and bloodshed than we can imagine long-term.
Remember Iraq. The argument then was that we had to act to stop Saddam from using his chemical weapons.
Lets not make the same mistake twice. I will have some updates soon.

I was against the war in Irag for I knew the multitude of innocents that would be murdered by the USA bombing raids and subsequent feet on the ground troops. I see Kerry pontificating about the obscenity of chemical warfare yet I have seen the slaughter of innocent ‘news reporters” and firing on a truck with children in it by the USA military thanks to wikileaks and Snowden the ‘Traitor” to America…USA is due for judgement as is all western countries due to the apostacy from God. Having said all this if we believe that we are in the Last days as I believe we are, we know that things will get worse and worse. Yahweh says He will put hooks into the mouths of the nations to bring them to His judgement feast, and just maybe , maybe this is a precursor…I believe we should pray for the will of God to be done. Both Assad and the rebels are slaughtering people left right and centre. Believing as you do an Islamic antichrist is a coming, as I also do, then we are maybe seeing the machinations of God Almighty to arrange the players on the final chess game of the age. Not saying definitely this is it but. I feel the sufferings of the Christians et al in the Middle East but it is also happening in Nigeria, Philippines, Indonesia, and to a lesser extent in the western nations, thye culture is lost and maybe God is about to call time…

He said that if the Obama administration does decide to launch an attack, Moscow will support Damascus. Israel is on full alert, and Netanyahu warns he is ready to hit Syria hard if threatened — Israeli military forces and civil defense authorities are on full alert, looking for any sign that Syria is about to attack, especially with chemical weapons. Netanyahu warned Israel will hit hard if a Syrian threat is detected. “The State of Israel is ready for any scenario. We are not part of the civil war in Syria but if we identify any attempt whatsoever to harm us, we will respond and we will respond in strength,” Netanyahu said on Tuesday after a meeting with his security advisers, his second in as many days.
This could well be one of Gods ‘suddenlies’…

What is also worthy of our deepest attention is the “timing” of all things happening at this very prophetic time.
In one week, the High Holy Days begin on God’s Biblical calendar. Rosh HaShanna and Yom Kippur.
As we know, Rosh HaShanna is the Feast of Trumpets. Trumpets in the Bible are for JUDGEMENT.
I would dare to say that, if the Obama Administration decides to follow through with it’s plans to attack Assad and his military, assisting the Rebels even further, JUDGEMENT on America is about to begin … and it will NOT be pretty!
I agree with you wholeheartedly, we need to be praying, and praying not only for Syria, but also for America, for Israel, and for anyone and everyone who does not know our Lord and Savior Yeshua HaMashiach/Jesus Christ!

Ultimately, as long as we let God be God, there are times when are to follow Psalm 45 (the number depends on the difference between the Masoretic text, and the Septuagint), especially about girding one’s sword.
I still have not seen the Weapons of Mass Destruction that were claimed to be in Iraq! This is definitely a false witness to go into Syria. I believe the real reason for going into Syria is Oil.
Look up the term Petro-Dollar. The Syrians are selling oil for Gold. That violates the OPEC mandate to sell oil only for American Dollar’s. The US wants to topple the Assad regime and put the rebels in power only so they will sell oil for US dollars. Where does the US have the right to say not use biological weapons when they used them in Vietnam. E.g.- Napalm, Agent Orange. Hypocrites!
How can the US say in a War that chemical weapons is where we draw the line? This is also a way for the US to get involved with Iran, Syria’s ally. Do not think that Israel is innocent in this matter as well. Where does most of this info the US gets come from?
