I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Bernis of Jewish Voice Today to discuss my latest book Mideast Beast.

I can’t wait to see this episode. Please pray for me Joel. I have been doing a series of teaching at my church on Islam and also their role in the end times! People have been very responsive and accepting it. Thank you Joel for all you do for The LORD! God Bless you!
Great interview, Joel! I know of your great passion for reaching the Muslims and the Jews, and I was wondering if you are familiar with the “Back to Jerusalem” movement”? Did you ever think that our best hope for evangelizing the 10/40 Window would be the Chinese Christians?
Visit their web site and do a little investigating and I think you will be encouraged. http://backtojerusalem.com/
Yes, quite familiar. Good people.
Joel,
Great job. By the way, LOVE the beard. You look good with it. Makes you look very distinguished.
Awesome
Joel,
Why do you think Turkey is the region where Antichrist comes from? Based upon scripture, I think Syria is more appropriate for the King of the North.
Dirk,
If by “based on Scripture” you are referring to Daniel 11, then technically either northern Iraq, Syria or Turkey is possible. Antiochus IV Epiphanes’ primary base was either Nineveh which is today Mosul in northern Iraq, or Antioch, which is actually in modern day Turkey. Many look to the ancient Roman province of “Syria” and assume that it corresponds to modern Syria. But this is only partially true. None the less, Syria is certainly possible, but I lean toward Turkey for several reasons. The first reason of course is Scripture. It is the combination of Daniel 11, (which allows for Syria, Iraq or Turkey), Ezekiel 38, 39, which places Gog (Antichrist) in Asia Minor (Turkey), as well as Revelation 13 & 17, which says that the seventh empire would suffer a fatal head wound and then recover as the final eighth (antichrist) empire. In my view, the head that suffered this wound is the Ottoman Empire. So that is the primary Scriptural basis. Then when we simply look at real world events, everything points to Turkey and not Syria. But again, this could change. So while I lean toward Turkey, I am open to Syria. I spoke with one teacher several years ago who declared with absolute confidence that he knew for years that Bashar Assad is the Antichrist. Could be, but I don’t see it. God knows best.
Blessings
@Joel, great to see you try and wake up those from the Roman paradox camp to how if they’re wrong, they’re going to fail to be prepared to assist our brothers and sisters in the Muslim world.
Just a Hebrew note. Great to see you using the original words, am and goyim, but the other word is saviv, not kabib.
Am saviv and goyim saviv.
Here’s all the occurrences of saviv from Isaiah to Zechariah:
Gratzi. In my lexicon, it is written “caybib”, so I have frequently said “kaybib”, but other times, I have got it closer to accurate. 🙂 I am the king of mispronunciation, by the way.
No sweat. 🙂 I honestly thought it was probably because of how a lexicon transliterated it. Learning is all good.
Good interview! If that beard gets any thicker somebody is gonna end up mistaking you for Hilton Sutton, lol! Just kidding!
