  1. Just bought it! Looking forward to reading it and using it as a foundation for my class at church! Thanks Joel and Samuel!

  2. Hey Joel,

Beautiful conversation! Love it, when you and Samuel chat on the Underground; I feel like the clarity amp gets turned up!

For someone who has read Samuel’s latest book, I can honestly, thoroughly recommend it! I have written a 5 star review on Amazon.co.uk, as I have a burden for this message/book to go forth in the Uk Church; we are in deep need of this kind of prophetic insight and clarity, on the issue of Israel, the Covenants and how this relates to the Lord’s return.
Samuel’s explaining of the Covenants was especially impactful to me (especially the Mosaic Covenant) and I think a “thunderbolt” sentence, when he writes of both the Abrahamic and Mosaic, really stood out: “…it’s important to recognise both positive and negative dimensions of the Covenants can function AT THE SAME TIME!”
Wow! That is so well put, and goes a long way in our understanding of present, modern day Israel.

The analogy of the topic of Israel being not just a different “room”, rather: another “house”, is so true I believe, such a deep topic, yet books like Samuel’s will really help clarify deep truths to believers in clear and accessible ways!

Excited to hear about your new book releases, Godspeed the books in November 2018 and February 2019!

If you ever decided to go down the audio book road; I’d recommend a nice, clear English voice/accent! 😉 (but then I’m biased!)

    Blessings in Yeshua

    Paul

  3. I guess I’m going to have to get this book too! 🙂 Keep up the good work! Isa. 40:31

  4. A very enjoyable edition of the Underground, as are they all.
Joel, you and Alan Kurschner, Dalton Thomas, John Harrigan, Reggie Kelly and Samuel Whitefield are great blessings to the Body of Messiah and we thank God for you.
May the Lord God of Israel continue to watch over you all and bless and encourage your families and the ministries He has given you.
    In Yeshua’s Wonderful Name .
    Lynn.

  5. Hi Joel:

As usual, I enjoyed this episode of The Underground. I love that you re-directed us to ‘the whole story’ as you are quite right in saying that we, as the Body of Christ, have seemed to treat the return of Jesus as ‘almost’ a bit of a ‘fairy tale’. We believe everything else wholeheartedly and yet, His Glorious return seems to be a little surreal. I really want the Lord to change my perspective on that!! Thanks for raising that point.

I found your comment about John Piper very interesting. You said “I’m not a Piperitte’ which was pretty funny but I understood what you were saying. I’m getting a little tired of hearing people quoting “John Piper” instead of quoting scripture or processing their own opinions. Would you clarify something for me please? Is John Piper a Supercessionist? That has been my understanding and I don’t want to believe something that isn’t true.

Thanks for taking the time to read and answer.

  6. Piper is not a supersessionist. His theology of Israel is much better than most in the Reformed movement, but he has also said a few things that show that he doesn’t fully get it either. Overall, he is a brilliant and thoughtful preacher with tons of great insights. I would see him as being weak on the topic of Israel, but again, much better than probably 90% of those out there from those in the Reformed camp.

  7. I would love to hear an important theological book read by a no-nonsense, sarcastic lady from Harlem. Like she is just doing her nails on the fire escape and schooling all the pompous academics on the Covenants.

  8. Hi Joel. I feel like the Holy Spirit is trumpeting that the Good News of the Gospel is the Gospel of the Kingdom. There is a King coming to sit on a throne and rule in righteousness. We must proclaim the message to prepare the way of the Lord. (Invite whosoever to the wedding). Matthew 24- the Good News of the Kingdom will be preached / Revelation 14:6/7

  9. It is refreshing to hear others talk about the Kingdom of God being more than ‘just’ the Cross. I know there are many who would be offended by this apparent diminishing of the centre point of history, but that is far from the intent of such a conversation. In fact without the Cross none of us would be bothered or even having this conversation. As was inferred in this episode, the entry point is the absolute and completed salvific work Jesus fulfilled at Calvary. However, if we limit the gospel of the Kingdom to the entry point only, significant and essential as it is, we lose the dimension of Jesus teaching that continues thru the 5 discourses found in Matthew for example. The latter is primarily concerned with last things and without exploring and even including these in the ‘full’ gospel of the Kingdom (i use that term generically) we miss out on so much of the hope and expectation that Jesus has given for us to examine, not only to save, to sanctify but also to prepare and inform us for all that is being orchestrated in our day, for the past 2000 years and indeed for us in the next phase of Jesus time clock as we understand it. As was rightly mentioned by Samuel I think, many do not understand the necessity of building the groundwork for the purpose behind teaching on eschatology and related and are only given the dessert at the end rather than starting with the entree and so on in order that the dessert will be understood, enjoyed and anticipated all the more, the rest of the meal must be prepared rightly and with skilful hands then we know that the end will be as good or better than the first course .in essence because after that we get to go home! Poor illustration but came to mind as I wrote. Blessings guys, Adam

  10. Sorry to digress but I have something generally misunderstood by most christians, concerning the english translation of “no man, KNOWS,the day or hour” , This truly needs to be re transliterated .

    Why you may ask?

The English verb “KNOW” was MISTRANSILITERATED from the Greek PAST VERB TENSE “EIDO”(Strong’s concordance 1492) which means SAW/SEEN.

So that verse should read-no man has seen, the day or hour.

This gives the verse a new meaning of an UNSEEN VISION about the day or hour in the future.

So as at when that Scripture was written no man had seen a vision of Christ’s second coming, but John saw the second coming ,according to Revelation 1:1 and everything in Revelation is about Christ’s return from the 1st to the 7th seal.

So technically,if John saw the second coming then the statement. “no man knoweth” (has seen the vision of Christ’s second coming) ,is no longer valid!!!

Remember this scripture has to do with the second coming rather than the rapture, because according to verse 42 of Matt 24 it is the HOUR of the Lord’s coming which is different from our gathering unto him in the sky(rapture).
