Great show. Just one question Joel. Can you talk about why “Preterism” is an issue at this time? Is this something that is growing and believers need to know how to argue against? It is amazing the scripture can be so clear about the 2nd Coming of Christ and how other believers can not understand their own scriptures. I wonder if they are reading their bible for themselves and allowing false doctrine to be taught to them? Let us also be a warning to all of us who think “our truth” is 100% correct. We need to fight for what is correct and true, but with a humility that shows Christ living in us. I see many Christians online calling other Christians names because they believe in some other doctrine that don’t like, i.e. pretribulation or some musical artist who didn’t say what they thought needed to be said. We must search the scriptures daily. Be Bereans, and see if the doctrine our pastors or radio personalities says is so. The world is watching. And there are times as Joel is doing here, where we must stand against heresy. Joel, you always do so with humility and the right spirit. Keep up the great work.
Always enjoys these conversations!
Of all the points of views related to Christian eschatology, preterism seems to me to be one of the most dangerous because it removes hope and longing for Christ that is supposed to be found in his second coming.
What did Jesus mean when he said “this generation shall not pass away until all these things take place”. Preterists say that this meant the generation of his audience.
Jesus’ reference to “generation” is rooted in Moses’ departing prophetic message:
1 “Give ear, O heavens, and let me speak;
And let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
2 “Let my teaching drop as the rain,
My speech distill as the dew,
As the droplets on the fresh grass
And as the showers on the herb.
3 “For I proclaim the name of the LORD;
Ascribe greatness to our God!
4 “The Rock! His work is perfect,
For all His ways are just;
A God of faithfulness and without injustice,
Righteous and upright is He.
5 “They have acted corruptly toward Him,
They are not His children, because of their defect;
But are a perverse and crooked GENERATION.
It is speaking to the whole house of Israel, not only those from one particular time period.
This is off the subject, but how is the video coming about the real Mount Sinai? Always interested in your films!
