In a recent episode of his Naked Bible Podcast, Dr. Michael Heiser repeatedly and quite dogmatically stated that Jebel al-Lawz in Saudi Arabia is not a possible candidate for the real Mount Sinai. This view, he claims, should be put to rest. Here I have attached a PDF file of the powerpoint file I created to used for my Underground episode in which I respond to several of Heiser’s various errors. Click here for the PDF file.

I have listened to Micheal heiser,,few times….apart from some theory and some knowledge.. couldn’t get anything.
I am shocked at Dr. Heiser’s refusal to openly discuss/ debate this issue. It really is sad and disappointing to see a Christian scholar decline to shed light and truth when controversy clouds a topic.
Heiser also mentioned that Mt. Sinai must be a three day journey from Egypt as per Moses’ request to pharoah. Could you comment on how each site holds up to this criteria? I think it was episode 269, maybe 268.
Total misnomer. It took them 49 days to get there. The 3-day request was not to get to Sinai.
I am also very disappointed in Dr. Michael Heiser over this and a few other of his very high minded and scholarly narrow minded views. This is why the Holy Spirit gave the five fold ministry to be the university for the body of Christ. There is no doubt that he has made some very real contributions to the discussion concerning the spirit realm, but that said he suffers from the power of his Intellect becoming his idol. This is very common for people that are very intelligent, they become prideful and refuse to open up to the Spirit of God because they are very comfortable with being dominant intellectually. In the end they wind up spitting g in God’s face when they refuse to entertain any idea they might be wrong or that they can be corrected. I pray these scholars stop quenching the Holy Spirit and isolating themselves from others that are equally as gifted by God in other areas they should be benefitting from in their personal growth and walk with Christ. They risk rejecting the truth all in the name of scholarly vainglory.
Work was done affiliated with Michael Rood Ministrties a DVD Called the Exodus Revealed (search for thr Red Sea Crossing in 2002. Very compelling …Search it out.
I’ve read most of Heiser’s books and have read many of his blog entries. He has a very condescending spirit. On many subjects he has his view and that’s it Perhaps being a Hebrew scholar quenches the Holy Spirit when it involves being open to others ideas it seems.
What about the Exodus Revealed. …Search for the Red Sea Crossing. 2006 .Was very telling about
The real Mt Sinai being in Saudi Arabia
Don’t know what all the fuss is about. The Scripture in Galatian by Shaul already made known that mt Siani is in Arabia. That settles it.
Joel, I’ve been tracking your Daniel teachings on the FAI app and noticed you are now holding to the traditional, primarily historical view of the first part of Daniel 8. This begs the question: How does this affect your thoughts on Erdogan being the antichrist?
It’s possible. I try to avoid Antichrist speculation, however.
I bare witness and agree with Joel.
Thank you Joel for your teaching on the second coming. I bare witness to you and Dalton and your understanding of his return.
I know and have listened to many hours of Dr. Heiser
