Strengthening the Underground Church in the Middle East

When working with the underground Church, there are obviously many things that simply cannot be said publicly online. So I am extremely limited in sharing the full details of my next ministry trip. Later this summer, I will be spending several days training, teaching, and equipping a team of underground church leaders who are laboring in nations where the gospel is severely restricted. Below is a video testimony about a dear friend laboring under precisely such circumstances. As always, in order to make this trip happen, I need your support. Click here to become a regular supporter or to make a one-time donation. In the next few years, we will be greatly increasing our ministry work, not only sharing the gospel and ministering to the most needy and afflicted of the earth, but also in training, equipping, and empowering those leaders who are truly living on the front lines.

Until the knowledge of God covers the earth as the waters cover the sea, and the name of Jesus is praised in every nation! Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

    Joel,

    I have a question, please…

Is that video testimony from your second film “Global Jesus Revolution”? Or is this separate from something else you used as a clip?

    Blessings!

“do you know that jesus will throw the best party when he comes back? do you think you’re invited?” wow… to me, for some very odd reasons, this video clicked me more than anything else. to be really honest, i was always afraid of praying that one prayer, you know… to send me somewhere physically as his worker. and what if he really does? what if he answers to that? what about my stuffs and my job and my family? this video is really messing me up… i always felt jelly about (in a good way) the missionaries. i think they are the most blessed ones in my perspective. but maybe i should try… now i really want to find out.

    Davy,

You better watch “Better Friends Than Mountains” just released by Frontier Alliance International first. Joel has a link to it on his blog.

    Blessings!

Joel – words cannot express my Christian admiration and love for you, your family and your ministry. My eyes would still be closed to the Middle East end-times paradigm without your work. I cannot wait to get your newest book about the JEW Yeshua who will rule the world. It is quite clear that the early church saints believed in a literal millennial reign. Unfortunately, this was later rejected in principal part because it was considered based on the Jewish influence of the Jewish apocalyptic writings, which of course was the the Hebrew Testament. Since the church was now the Israel of God, the old testament prophecies were discarded. This in incomprehensible given the Olivet discourse of Jesus. So much rejection of the Jews as a people is embedded in church history. Even with the miracles of 1948 and 1967, Christians cling to the amillennial position. Thankfully for me as a catholic it is hopeful that the last three popes (JP II, Benedict and Francis) have referred to the Jews as God’s chosen people, despite the many angry voices in church leadership against this. It is absolutely despicable that the present catholic bishop in Jerusalem continues in office despite his virulent anti-semitism. I will shortly send a gift. May The Lord Jesus continue to protect you and your family and bless your ministry with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Here is a good article including revealing statistics about rise and fall of Christianity in the Middle East these past 115 years. Nice that it is on mainstream CNN. They quote Open Doors.

    http://edition.cnn.com/2015/02/27/middleeast/christianity-middle-east/index.html

Nowhere has Christianity declined more sharply than in Turkey, no less than a factor of one hundred. In Iraq it is “only” a factor of ten, but Christianity is expected to be extinct there in ten years according to this article.

The rise of Christians in some other ME countries is very interesting either.

    Hey Joel!

I’m sorry you didn’t win in the documentary category for “End Times Eyewitness” @ the CWFF award ceremony held over the weekend in San Antonio, TX, buddy. You had lots and lots of stiff competition from the looks of the nominees listed. But I know you were thrilled to be even considered and in my opinion, that is a real accomplishment seeing this is your first attempt being in Christian film media to be in nomination contention. If you were down there this past week, I’m sure it was a real learning experience being there with all the teaching seminars that were conducted for film-makers. I read about it on through the CWFF Facebook page.

I was pulling for you all the way! But I think you are headed for a bright future in this medium and will only improve as you learn this craft to help in Christian missional work and educating believers regarding the return of Jesus.

Keep up the good work and effort!

    Blessings!

P.S. My church home is showing your dvd at month’s end and is inviting sister churches to the showing. I am setting-up your dvd and then with a discussion following that I’m leading…can I be selfish and say I am wishing like crazy that it was YOU leading the discussion instead of me?

I also know of at least one other church in the STL metro area who has had a dvd showing of your documentary with a very good receptive audience. I hope my church home has the same outcome. Pray for me as I lead the post dvd discussion! I’m not even in the same ballpark as you…not even close!

I didn’t even realize it was this weekend. But I agree, for a first time film, simply being selected is fine. I’m already working on a few more projects that I’m very excited about. Bless you good4u.

Joel, I just wanted to say first of all, I can’t thank you enough for the work you are doing and your ministry. As others have already said, my eyes would still be closed if it were not for your work.

Ever since I viewed this video, it keeps coming back to my mind. God can take anything that we have done, like being a drug dealer as this missionary once was, and make it something that will glorify him. The testimony of this man will always stay with me; what a hopeful and powerful message it is!

I have been keeping his work and family as well as you and yours in my prayers. Many blessings to you!
